The Lightest Teardrop Trailer: Also the Most Expensive

Weighing in at 216lbs, this is the lightest teardrop trailer that you will be able to find. (Unless you build one yourself that is). Even if you do try and build yourself a teardrop diy trailer, I highly doubt that you will be able to keep it under the weight of this one from Earth Traveler Teardrop Trailers.

The Lightest Teardrop Trailer 2

With the axle placed in the rear 1/3 of the frame, the tongue weight is light enough to be able to move around by hand.

Obviously this based on an empty trailer without any appliances or “stuff” loaded up. But if you balance the load out from front to back when packing, you should being able to continue moving it by hand.

This reminds me of one very important point when it comes to loading up a trailer this light. Do not put a full stocked Yeti cooler or portable fridge all the way at the rear. The tongue weight (the amount of downward force at the hitch) should be more than 30% of the total weight of the trailer to “pull straight” down the road. Wind hitting the front of the trailer will lift up on the front, and if there isn’t much weight to lift, it will lift up on the tow vehicle and feel like the back end as loose. This is not how you want to be traveling safely down the highway. I almost learned this rule the hard way back when I used to pull a whiskey-barrel trailer behind my Harley.

Inside Look at this Extremely Light Weight Teardrop Camper

With full windows on both Port and Starboard sides, the interior of this trailer feels very roomy. I don’t see any privacy curtains, so you might be giving the wildlife a taste of it’s own morning glory. Which is perfect, as this one doesn’t belong in some campground wedged in between a bunch of snowbirds in their diesel pushing motorhomes.

Center Hinge Opens Up

With a hinge in the roof on both the front and the rear, this teardrop trailer opens up in a unique, one-of-a-kind style. Design and function has obviously been well though out and carefully planned with this trailer.

With these aerodynamic’s, this would make a great motorcycle camping trailer too.
